Mon 5th Aug- Wed 7th Aug- Mr Stink- Marina Theatre Lowestoft

So it’s the summer holidays were two weeks in and the children are bored so what can you do- get to the Theatre. You may have already seen Matilda and we will cover Chitty Chitty Bang Bang in a minute so for those who need something else to fill the day the Marina Theatre has you covered with Mr Stink. Based on the book by David Walliams who is slowly becoming the modern day Roald Dahl, we get the story of a lonely Chloe who invites Mr Stink to secretly move into the family’s shed. Brought to you by the Chickenshed Theatre Company packed with original musical numbers the stort promises to make you laugh whilst touching your heart. So if your dying for a theatre fix this week and don’t have any children knows the time to steal some.

One to Watch

Fri 9th Aug- Songs from Ireland- Maddermarket Theatre, Norwich

The problem with being a childless adult in the height of summer is everything is aimed at family entertainment. So for those of us fortunate enough to not have the burden of Children Maddermarket may have you covered with an evening of something a little bit different. On Friday we have Songs from Ireland with Pat Abetnethy and Dave Marsden. The duo who have previously been seen in “Probably the best comedy Songs in the World Ever,” now return with an intimate evening celebrating their Irish roots. Promising some well known songs some you may know, some you won’t but an evening designed to celebrate the Irish spirit, whilst the duo tell you stories of themselves and Ireland over the years.

Worth a Mention

Tues 6th Aug- Sun 11th Aug- Chitty Chitty Bang Bang- Open Norwich, Norwich

Its was a difficult choice this week to decide what went where as it’s a battle of family entertainment at the theatres, so  I mean Chitty Chitty Bang Bang no disservice putting it down to third today. Yet this is a story we all know and one of the worlds favourite  musicals so shouldn’t need too much introduction. Open is an amazing venue and does some amazing work locally so I’m sure this production will be truly scrumptious. Now all together Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang we love you…
