Thurs 3rd Oct- John Finnemores Flying Visit- Marina Theatre, Lowestoft

So this week Marina Theatre invite an award winning comedian to Lowestoft… in fact John Finnemore has won more Comedy.co.uk Awards than any other writer so Suffolk should be in for some laughs this Thursday night. If your not aware of John’s work he writes and stars in quite a few BBC Radio shows including Cabin Pressure, John Finnemores Double Acts and John Finnemores Souvenir Programme.

This show promises laughs and special guests from some of the above mentioned shows so if you haven’t come across John’s work it would be well worth checking it out on Youtube to get a flavour of what your in for.

Its a rarity to get such an accomplished comedian who has so many accolades and has also written for some amazing show including That Mitchell and Webb Look/Sound. So  this is the perfect evening to see a comedian in his element.

One To Watch

Fri 4th Oct- Richard Hawley- the nick rayns lcr, UEA

This week we find Sheffield’s second favourite son (after Jarvis Cocker) here with us at the UEA. Richard Hawley has now had nearly twenty years performing as a solo artist since his debut album Late Night Final. Richard will no doubt be celebrating his new solo album Further  and celebrating everything inbetween. For those not familiar with Richard he found success during the Britpop phenomena with his band Longpigs. Following the break up he found himself helping Pulp with what would become there final album (up until the present day) We Love Life.

Richard has earned himself a Mercury Music Prize nomination twice now as well as a Brit Award once. He notably played the guitar on All Saints cover of Under the Bridge. Richard Hawley is one of the few men I would love to run into in a pub and listen to his tales of the music industry. Yet the closest I’m going to get it seeing Richard in action at the UEA and I suggest you do to.
