Week Commencing 18th November

Get It Booked

Sat 23rd November- Before it Rains- St Georges Theatre, Great Yarmouth

So this week in Great Yarmouth’s premier theatre we have Katherine Chandlers Before it Rains. The play set mostly on a council estate following Gloria a single mother to her son Michael who has high functioning Asperger’s syndrome. Gloria likes to spend her day drinking whilst Michael digs the soil to check that everything is in order.

A charismatic new comer Carl comes to the area, Carl comes from a troubled family with a physcopathic brother and a drug addled father. When Carl decides to take Michael under his wing it spells trouble for all involved.

The play explores themes of parenthood, loyalty, violence and the challenge society presents when there is so little around for people to do.  So anyone who can see how this might relate to Great Yarmouth should remember what there is to do and go and see this show on Saturday.

One to Watch

Tues 19th Nov- Wed 20th Nov- Flo & Joan- Norwich Playhouse

So in that no mans land of cold weather between Summer and Christmas we all need a good laugh to make the nights pass quicker and for 2 nights this week, the Playhouse have us covered with the musical comedy stylings of Flo and Joan. If you’ve not come across them before give them a listen on Spotify (or your choice of music streaming app) and I’m sure your commute will be all the richer for listening to them.

To give you a very simple clue they are funny. They have sold out show’s at the fringe festival and at the Soho theatre and are simply deserving of your and my attention whilst they have chosen to grace the City with their presence. If your still unsure check out the video’s on YouTube and I’m sure you will soon understand  this is a night worth your attention.
